Being Changed Through Thing 5

"David found strength in the LORD his God." ~1 Samuel 30:6

"This all-surpassing power is from God and not from us." ~2 Corinthians 4:7

We view a sudden crisis or a painful trial as an unpleasant interruption in our lives. We see hardship or pressure as a distraction that really messes things up. To us, a crisis is an unfair circumstance. We don't ask for it. We don't need it. We certainly don't want it.

Scripture, though, shows us pressure and crisis from an altogether different viewpoint. The Bible sees it through God's eyes. This holy perspective allows Paul to say that these interruptions in our lives are intended to teach us, to show us, not to rely on ourselves, but on God. These sudden pressures actually strengthen our faith.

Please read 2 Corinthians 1:8-10 and Philippians 2:12-13. Then join us at 10:15 this Sunday morning February 1 as we consider together how GCR’s formation zones work to prepare us to meet our pivotal life circumstances with the strength of the Lord.
