When you’re walking through the house and announce to your family, “I’m in the car!” you’re really not. You might be in the kitchen or in the living room. You are walking to the car, your intention is to be in the car as quickly as possible, but you’re not there yet. Why, then, do you declare that you are? Is it a lie?
Please read Colossians 3:1-17 this week. Then join us at 10:15 this Sunday morning August 2 as we consider together what the Bible says regarding the certainty of our situation. This passage speaks about our promised future as if it has already occurred. It says we are already raised with Christ and seated with him at the right hand of the Father in heaven.
But we’re not. Is it a lie?
Or is it the most certain, the most positive, the most definite way to speak about the guarantee from our God, that when our Lord Christ Jesus appears in his glory on that last day, we are also going to appear right with him!
