The Faithful Widow
As he nears Jerusalem, our Lord tells a story to show his followers “that they should always pray and not give up.” It’s a story about a poor widow who keeps knocking on the door of an evil judge, begging for justice. She won’t stop. She keeps coming. And then Jesus wonders out loud if his disciples are going to have that same kind of persistent faith.
Please read Luke 18:1-8 this week. Then join us at 10:15 this Sunday morning May 31 as we consider together why we should keep trusting God when a lot of the time it can feel like he’s not listening. Or he doesn’t care.
Here’s a hint: The widow in Jesus’ story is you. The mean judge in the story is NOT God.
