The Invisible Man
Jesus tells a story about a poor man named Lazarus, begging on a rich man’s front porch. But the rich man never sees him. To the rich man, Lazarus is invisible. But God sees him. God knows his name and is concerned for his every need. God protects Lazarus and blesses him, ultimately reversing his entire situation at the end of the story.
Please read the parable in Luke 16:19-31. Then join us at 10:15 this Sunday morning May 24 as we consider together the invisible people in our own world and our faithful response.
As followers of Jesus, we see the hungry, the poor, the lost, and the sick for who they are: men and women created in the image of God. We see people for what they can be: physically and spiritually whole. We see people for what they must be: restored to a righteous relationship with their Creator. We see them for what our Lord desires them to be: one with him and with our brothers and sisters in his Kingdom today and forever.
