GCR’S NEWEST SHEPHERDS
For the past 45 years, Gary has served the GCR Church as a Bible class teacher, deacon, head of the benevolence program, Impact committee board member, and leader of high school huddles. But his passion is teaching. Gary has been teaching Bible classes here for over four decades and loves the weekly interaction with the members of our church family. He and his wife, Gaye, have been married 47 years and have three daughters and eight grandchildren. Gary has been in the regional oil and gas industry since 1976, but his main focus is on commercial real estate. He supports a KWO orphanage in Kenya in honor of his mother and is grateful to God for the deep relationships they have at GCR that keep them accountable and their faith in the Lord strong.
“I pray that GCR can better engage young married couples and young families in our community so we can be a vibrant, active, and intergenerational church that transforms the city of Midland for God’s Kingdom.”
Richard and Kim began dating during their high school years in Waco, married in the summer of 1977, and moved to Midland and joined the GCR Church in 1983. Since that time, the Hatchetts have been active in our small groups ministries, children’s and youth ministries, and local benevolence. Richard is currently on our Bible class teaching team and serves alongside Kim as warm and friendly faces with our Greeters Ministry. Richard has worked with West Texas Gas and its affiliates since 1979. He and Kim have two children and four grandkids – a fifth grandchild is coming in August! – and are grateful to share the highs and lows of life within the family environment at GCR.
“I pray the church at GCR will continue to be an open door for all those who are called to Christ and looking for a home where the Spirit of the Lord is present and transforming people’s lives.”
Michael and his wife, Wendy, have been married 37 years and have been members at GCR since 2013. Michael is a Bible class teacher, small group co-leader, and, at one time, served as GCR’s Executive Minister. Today he is the Operations Manager for Zeno Office Solutions in Midland. The Humphries have three sons and two grandchildren, Wendy serves on the Sisterhood women’s ministry leadership team and the foreign missions ministry team, and they both deeply appreciate all the loving people at GCR.
“My dream for GCR is that we would live out our vision of being changed by God to love like Jesus, both within our church family and in our Midland community.”
Marc and his wife, Leah, have been active members of the GCR Church since 2000, spending much of their time together working with our children’s and youth ministries. They both teach classes at GCR and are the long-time leaders of our High School Juniors and Seniors small group, as well as co-leaders for another small group for young adults. Marc is a licensed marriage and family therapist and the clinical director for Centers here in Midland. The McQueens have two sons, Nate and Graden, and they want GCR to be a church in which all members grow spiritually and deepen their relationships with Christ.
“I value the family atmosphere GCR works to create, its efforts to have a clear identity and vision, and its work to disciple our members well.”
